Mercury starts rising again, rain next week in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The weatherman has predicted cloudy sky for Friday with a maximum and minimum of 40° and 26° C, respectively. Rain, however, is likely to occur over the next week due to fresh western disturbance, Met officials said.

The mercury rose marginally in some parts of the capital on Thursday because of prevailing dry conditions.

Safdarjung observatory, which provides the official figures for Delhi, recorded a maximum of 38.8° Celsius, normal for this time of the year, and a minimum of 25.4° Celsius, three notches below the normal. Humidity levels, meanwhile, oscillated between 34% and 79%.
In terms of air quality, Thursday was a "moderate" day with the AQI clocking 141.
