Sub-inspector held for taking Rs 30,000 bribe in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: ACB sleuths on Thursday arrested Sub Inspector P Babu of Moghulpura police station for demanding and accepting Rs 30,000 bribe. Based on a complaint lodged by businessman Mohammed Abdul Raheem, ACB sleuths laid a trap and caught Babu red-handed.
According to ACB officials, Raheem had a series of skirmishes with another businessman and the issue came to the notice of Moghulpura police. “Babu summoned Raheem and threatened to bind him over. He demanded Rs 30,000 bribe for not recommending Raheem and his brother’s name to Revenue Divisional Officer for taking action under Section 107 of CrPC,” an ACB official said.
