OnePlus has announced the 2nd Android Q Developer Preview for its flagships OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The first developer program of the software was rolled out last month. Those interested to give Android Q Developer Program 2 a try can manually flash it on the smartphones. Even though this is the second update of the software, there is still a risk of bricking your phone, so read the instruction carefully. Notably, it’s a developer preview and should not be confused with Android Q Beta 2.
OnePlus says that the Android Developer Program 2 is best-suited for “developers and early adopters.” The firmware is not stable and riddled with a number of issues and bugs such as Reading Mode not working, Display Mode not working, a broken verification window for WiFi anonymous connections, and some stability related issues.
If you’re willing to work with these issues, head over to OnePlus forum and download the Android Q Developer Program 2 firmware for OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The first time users will have to flash the update onto their devices, while the users who have already enrolled in the Developer Program 1 won’t have to wipe any data to install the latest update. Make sure that the handsets’ battery is above 30 percent and there is at least 3GB storage available before commencing the installation. OnePlus hasn’t revealed the changelog of the new Android Q Developer Preview, therefore, we’re not sure what to expect. In case the user changes its mind, they have the option to switch back to the stable release as well.
