LUCKNOW: Lucknow University authorities on Thursday caught four professors who were enrolled as permanent faculties in two colleges. The anomalies were detected when the two colleges uploaded the details of their teachers on the University Data Resource Centre portal of LU.
While checking the faculty details of 165 affiliated colleges, LU officials found four names whose subject, names, photographs and other details were the same as mentioned by another college.
"The two self-finance colleges affiliated to LU, one near Maal and other on Sultanpur Road, had the same professor teaching the same subjects. The details uploaded by the two colleges had the same person teaching Hindi, home science, sociology and education at both places at the same time. Even the year of joining was the same," said registrar SK Shukla.
"Showcause notices have been issued to the two colleges and four professors. It is being probed whether the fraud was done by the colleges or the professors," Shukla added.
He said that no immediate action has been taken against the professors or the colleges considering the fact that at times a professor switches from one college to another then his/her name is not updated in the records. "We will also find out if these professors were drawing salaries from both the colleges," the registrar said.

"If colleges, professors or both would be found guilty then LU will be publicize their names on its official website and take strict action against them."
In January last year, LU had directed all colleges to upload faculty detail on the University Data Resource Centre portal but various colleges uploaded the information only after being issued repeated warnings. LU officials said these two colleges, too, uploaded the faculty details after several warnings.
