Fire in Vasai industrial estate, over 20 units gutted

MUMBAI: A fire broke out in the Merchant Industrial Estate in Vasai (east) in early hours of Friday. No injuries have been reported so far.
The fire was noticed at around 12 am in the industrial complex that has over 100 small and big industries.
Atleast 20 to 25 units, manufacturing industrial products, went up in flames. Seven fire tenders from the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) fire brigade were pressed into service.
Fire fighting and cooling operations are underway. The cause of the blaze has not been established.
While property worth lakhs is believed to have been destroyed, no loss of life has been reported yet.
