Playing his 100th ODI for the English cricket team, England all-rounder and Liverpool fan Moeen Ali, received a special message from football legend Steven Gerrard on the milestone. England play Sri Lanka in the ICC Men Cricket World Cup 2019 match at Headingley in Leeds on Friday.
To commemorate this milestone, England football team legend and former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard sent the southpaw batsman a congratulatory message.
Moeen made his ODI debut against West Indies in February 2014 and was called up to the 2015 World Cup squad, becoming an integral part of the English set-up as a useful lower-middle order batsman who could contribute with off-breaks.
He received a presentation for his 100th cap prior to the game, where he was also shown a video by the Liverpool icon, who lifted the 2005 Champions League trophy with the Merseyside team. This news was revealed by Moeen’s captain Eoin Morgan at the toss ahead of the game.
Congratulations on 💯 ODI caps Mo! 👏
