Police said he is out of danger and the four accused will be taken out on production warrant by police for questioning. According to police, Mohammad Sajid Khan, the deputy superintendent of Bhondsi jail, lodged a complaint on the matter on Tuesday morning.
Khan said the four inmates have been identified as Neeraj, Jorawar, Pawan, and Hariom. They attacked Chandar Pal, who was in the same barrack, Khan added.
According to police, Pal was thrashed badly by the four accused and he suffered injuries on his face, head, chest and hands.
As the scuffle broke out, security warders in the jail interevened and rushed Pal to the jail hospital.

The investigation is under way and action will be taken against the accused after verifying the facts,” said inspector Savit Kumar, SHO of Bhondsi police station.
