Surat: The one-minute laughter yoga will be demonstrated at the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo in 2020. But its finer points will be exhibited by 2,000 school students during celebration of International Day of Yoga in the city on Friday.
Kamlesh Masalawala, who is known as laughter guru, said, “The one-minute laughter yoga is nothing but similar to an innocent child’s laugh that lasts a minute. It is a gradient laughter, which starts with eye contact and smile and then reaches its pinnacle. Advantages of laughter is well-known to everyone. Laughter yoga keeps one’s body and mind fit.”
“In this yoga, a person doesn’t touch another person. Neither he speaks nor utters a word. Two persons join with a smile and twinkle in their eyes. Their smile then becomes a full-fledged laughter. It is a profound laughter. A person, who has been laughing, starts weeping, has convulsions in stomach and pain in cheeks,.” Said Dr Mukul Choksi, a psychiatrist. Masalawala said, “If a person does it regularly, it will give his mind and body enough energy to last 24 hours. Laughter yoga helps one to become a positive thinking person. You become as innocent as a child. We have approached the United Nations with a request to use it for promotion of international peace. The one-minute laughter yoga has been producing encouraging results.”
