Godown owner steals tenant’s items worth Rs 17L

NAGPUR: Kalamna police on Tuesday registered a case burglary and trespassing against the owner of a godown for allegedly stealing items worth Rs 17 lakh from the godown. The accused, Rajendra Zade, 51, was having a dispute over vacating the godown with his tenant Ramesh Bhat, 54, over which he took the step.

Police said Zade had give the godown on rent to Bhat a few years back. But recently the duo was having a dispute over the godown. Zade, a resident of Chhapru Nagar Chowk, along with his accomplices, broke open the lock and allegedly stole items worth Rs17 lakh from the godown. When the incident came to light, Bhat approached Kalamna police and filed a complaint.
Kalamna police have registered a case of burglary, theft and trespassing against Zade and his accomplices. Police are yet to make any arrests in the matter.
