18-Year-Old Charged With DUI Smashes Lamborghini Gallardo Into Two Vehicles

An 18-year-old driving a white Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 under the influence crashed into two vehicles in Fresno, California earlier this week.

ABC 30 Action News reports that the teenage driver, Mark Verdugo, had a warrant out for his arrest at the time of the crash and an illegal loaded pistol was recovered from his car. He is now facing a number of charges, including DUI, a felony warrant, unlawful possession of a firearm and DUI causing major injury.

The Visalia Police Department say the 18-year-old crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Court Street at roughly 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night. One of the women in the vehicles sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

According to Marcus Lasalde who works at a 7 Eleven nearby, “it sounded like an explosion, I didn’t think it was a car accident or anything. It was pretty horrific and there was debris everywhere. I went to where the Lamborghini was at and police were with him, they already have a driver out and he was on the ground, he was moving he was really out of it.”

Verdugo was taken to a hospital by police to be treated for his injuries. A further two people were taken to hospital, but are reportedly okay.

Your Central Valley reports that this isn’t Verdugo’s first brush with the law. In 2017, he was arrested after the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office seized 32 pounds of marijuana, worth more than $11,000, and three handguns from a property.
