NAGPUR: BJP corporator and transport
committee chairman Bunty Kukde will present NMC’s transport department’s budget before the standing committee meeting on Tuesday and he may propose to convert all diesel run Aapli Bus into CNG.
Kukde will revise the budget of transport manager Shivajirao Jagtap who had presented the department’s budget in March this year by projecting a revenue of Rs281.99 crore in the new financial year while the expenditure had been pegged at 281.86 crore.
During 2018-2019, the NMC had suffered a loss of Rs94.17 crore for operating Aapli Bus and generated revenue of Rs60.56 crore from the sale of tickets while the total expenditure in 2018-19 was Rs154.73 crore.
Kukde will make some changes and he may propose to convert all NMC run-Aapli Bus through three red bus operators into CNG and electric.
The tax department will also submit proposals to transfer ownership titles of 14 property owners who had become defaulters.
The accounts and finance department will submit a proposal for the panel’s nod for annual accounts for the year 2016-17 and 2017-18. To combat manpower crunch, the fire and emergency
services department has submitted a proposal to appoint three retired drivers and 14 retired firemen on contract basis for 11 months.
