V. Santhanam, a civic activist, had filed an RTI with the State Highways Department, seeking details about the work pertaining to stormwater drains at Tambaram Sanatorium.
The civic activist says the reply runs athwart what exists on the ground — a stormwater drain work where loose ends have to be tied. Santhanam says that while the reply states that the SWD has been completed, the reality is that it is incomplete at points. The pavement is out of bounds for pedestrians. The trash in the drains have not been removed, which is evident from the exposed sections of the drain, says the civic activist.
The activist says he has filed one more RTI seeking that State Highways provide him with an exact picture of what is happening with the SWD. When contacted over this issue, a State Highways Department official promised to do the needful.
