Kesar mango auction at Talala market yard to end on Tuesday

RAJKOT: The hub of Kesar mango Talala market yard will discontinue the auction of Mango of this season from today evening. According to the data released by the market yard, the less quantity of mango auctioned this year compared to last year that’s because of less production and uncertain weather.

The auction in this market yard started from May 5. Last year the auction started on 3rd May and ended on 13th June. According to Talala APMC in this period total 8.30 lakh box each of ten KG was auctioned. The mango that auctioned in this market yard goes to the big cities like Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat. There are big traders who finalize the deal of entire orchid with the farmer before the start of the season. The other wholesalers purchase the mango from the auction in the market yard.
According to the market yard in this current season till the date, 7.65 lakh boxes each of 10 KG were auctioned and by today evening more 10,000 boxes are expected to be auctioned. This year because of prolonging winter the income of Kesar mango started late and because of ‘Vayu’ cyclone and raining started in the second week of June the income of Kear Mango decreased. The average market price for auction remained Rs 300 to 350 per 10 KG.
