England won the toss and opted to bat against Afghanistan in the 24th World Cup match at Old Trafford here on Tuesday.
For England, it has been a smooth ride so far while Afghanistan have remained winless in World Cup 2019.
Both teams have played four matches so far in the tournament out of which England have won three and are currently at fourth place in the points table while Afghanistan are yet to open their account.
After losing to Pakistan, England bounced back strongly and won their last two matches comprehensively against Bangladesh and West Indies by a margin of 106 runs and eight wickets respectively.
