Did YOU spot this major Today show editing fail? Prank segment 'filmed at 3am' shows visible DAYLIGHT streaming through the blinds
The Today show failed to impress audiences with a segment involving Tom Steinfort waking up weather presenter Steve Jacobs with a man playing the bagpipes on Tuesday.
And it seems the sketch may have been better left on the cutting room floor, after fans noticed a major editing fail in the already-cringeworthy clip.
Despite the segment being 'filmed at 3am', daylight appeared to be streaming through the Venetian blinds behind Steve's bed.

The presence of daylight left viewers scratching their heads, as Tom was seen entering Steve's house under the cloak of darkness moments earlier.
During the questionable sketch, Tom Steinfort burst into weather presenter Steve Jacobs' bedroom accompanied by a man in military regalia loudly playing the bagpipes.
The premise of the segment was that Steve had 'slept in' and failed to show up to work. However, a remarkably similar skit first aired on Triple J in September 2018.

The segment began with Tom stealthily entering Steve's bedroom carrying a pile of alarm clocks set to go off at 3am.
After Steve failed to wake up to the alarms, Tom tried several other wake-up methods - including blasting an air horn and yelling through a megaphone.
The scene ended with Steve eventually being woken by the sound of bagpipes blasting through his bedroom.

While Tom thanked the elderly piper and Steve's daughters for helping with the prank, he failed to thank Triple J breakfast presenters Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton, who came up with a near-identical segment almost a year ago.
The Triple J prank, which aired in September 2018, saw Ben and Liam surprise their sleeping boss Lachie Macara with a bagpipe player.
Interestingly, Today's Brooke Boney was working for Triple J as a newsreader at the time the hilarious skit aired.

Today's segment may have also been inspired by skits that aired on U.S. talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, in which the host was rudely woken up by celebrity guests.
In 2015, Rihanna famously barged into Jimmy's bedroom in the early hours while singing B**ch Better Have My Money as part of an April Fool's Day prank.
The following year, Britney Spears woke Jimmy from his peaceful slumber accompanied by a troupe of shirtless male dancers.
