Venkatrao Nadagouda, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Raichur in charge, has assured that he will urge Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to provide financial aid for the Mungaru Samskritika Raichur Habba during his scheduled village stay programme in Raichur district on June 26.

He was addressing a gathering after flagging off a competition of pulling a 2.5-ton roller as part of the habba to mark celebration of the farmers’ festival, Kaara Hunnime, on Tuesday.

The three-day traditional event concluded on Tuesday. The event was organised by the Munnur Kaapu Samaj in association with Hatti Gold Mines and other organisations.

While appreciating the Munnur Kaapu Samaj, the Minister said that Kaara Hunnime has been holding the roller-pulling competition by bullocks, thus encouraging youths to participate in ancient celebrations. He appealed to farmers, whose bullocks participated in the competition, to provide necessary care for them after the event.
