Silver futures up on spot demand

On the MCX, silver contracts for July delivery rose by Rs 96, or 0.26 percent, to Rs 37,188 per kg in a business turnover of 19,112 lots.

Silver prices rose 0.26 percent to Rs 37,188 per kg at the futures trade on June 18 as speculators created fresh positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery rose by Rs 96, or 0.26 percent, to Rs 37,188 per kg in a business turnover of 19,112 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for September delivery traded higher by 0.39 percent, or Rs 145, at Rs 37,600 per kg in a business turnover of 7,403 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in silver futures to fresh positions created by participants due to an uptick in demand at the spot market.
