The knifeman who brutally killed two dogs in their kennel was caught on CCTV footage, the devastated owners of the pets have revealed.

Fane, a five-year-old black Spaniel who is understood to have been stabbed , died shortly after the incident at around 1am on Saturday morning at the Williams' family home in Rhos.

Olive, a 14-year-old Pug, is not believed to have been stabbed but had to be put down after suffering other injuries.

Mercedes Williams, 28, who has since seen CCTV footage of the incident told North Wales Live how she was "sickened" after watching the attacker walk into her parents garden.

 

"You can clearly see a lad in a grey tracksuit with a knife in his hand coming along the road and up to the house," she said.

"He walked up the garden before running away with a knife in his hand.

"It happened very quickly, it was over within about a minute."

Ms Williams, who was on holiday with her parents at the time of the incident, said her 18-year-old sister Milly Williams who found both dogs following the attack is still shaken.

he added: "Milly still hasn't come home, she can't stop crying after she saw Fane. She's really scared.

"My whole family are sickened by it, they don't feel comfortable in their own home. They're not doing well at all."

Ms Williams said the family are hopeful police, who have launched an investigation into the incident, will find the person responsible, despite no arrests being made.

Hundreds of kind messages have flooded in for the family since the attack.

"We're overwhelmed with all the support and messages we've received," she added. "We really appreciate the love and kind words everyone has said to us.

"I hope someone who knows something comes forward to find the person responsible."
