Missing man found dead in Cooum river in Chennai

CHENNAI: The body of 39-year-old man, who had been missing since Saturday, was found floating in the Cooum river here on Tuesday.
The deceased man has been identified as Jeevan Patrick of Anna Nagar West Extension. He was married and is survived by his wife and two children.
Police said Patrick left home on Saturday and had been missing since then. His family members lodged a complaint with the Aminjikarai police to trace him.
On Tuesday, passersby noticed the body floating in the river beside the Pallavan Salai and alerted police and fire and rescue services personnel who retrieved the body.
The Triplicane police, who registered a case, said they were inquiring if the man had slipped into the river by accident and drowned or jumped into the river to commit suicide.
