NEW DELHI: Congress chief
Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attended a meeting of senior leaders and actively participated in the strategy session chaired by
UPA chairperson
Sonia Gandhi, a first since he announced his intent to resign as party chief on May 25 and totally withdrew from decision-making and interaction with party leaders.
The discussion, which dwelt on the first Parliament session of the new BJP government, revolved around floor coordination with like-minded parties as well as on coming political issues like Speaker's election, the meeting convened by PM
Narendra Modi on Wednesday to discuss "one nation, one poll" among other issues.
While leader of opposition in
Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma briefed Sonia on the recent all party meeting chaired by PM, sources said Rahul made active interventions in the discussion.
However, there is no clarity on who would represent Congress at the PM's discussion which is for "heads of political parties". In the evening, Sonia Gandhi chaired a meeting of UPA parties.
