The second season of 'Our State Our Taste', conducted by The Hindu Group, will begin in the city on June 22.
The cookery competition, to identify the 'Master Chef' of Tamil Nadu will have preliminary rounds in 15 locations and the finale in Chennai. Chef Damodaran will be the judge of the event, according to a press release. The top three winners will win a total cash prize of ₹2 lakh. The first prize is ₹1 lakh, the second prize ₹ 60,000 and the third ₹40,000.
The preliminary round in Coimbatore will be held on June 22 (Saturday) at Hash 6 Hotel, Saibaba Colony. In Erode, it will be on June 23 (Sunday) at Kohinoor Hotels, Brough Road. In Salem, the preliminary round will be held on July 6.

Next, the participants must cook their favourite dish that represents the flavour of Tamil Nadu and bring it to the venue of the preliminary round.
The dish could be vegetarian or non-vegetarian and of any type: starters, main course, snacks or desserts. Participants shall use Savorit, Naga and Fortune food products and RKG Ghee to prepare their dishes and bring the covers to the venue to gain extra points.
A panel of judges headed by Chef Damodaran will select the three best cooks from the preliminary rounds, for the final round in Chennai on August 31.
