West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced the meeting with striking junior doctors at Nabanna ended on a positive note and the doctors decided to call off their seven-day strike immediately.
The doctors assured the Chief Minister at Nabanna to announce calling off the strike at NRS Hospital where the agitation began on Tuesday last after assault on two doctors, including Paribaha Mukherjee.
The meeting, which lasted for some one and half hours from 4 PM, was presided over by the
Chief Minister, who also assured of issuing written notice about the meeting and suggestions, to be implemented in phases.
Mr Banrjee also agreed to visit the hospital at Neuroscience Hospital at Park Circus to see Paribaha Mukherjee, one of the demands of the striking doctors.
Ms Banerjee is expected to visit shortly to Paribaha Mukherjee.
Mr Banerjee said she gave all instructions to all the departments as suggested by the striking doctors for implementation.
