Shiv Sena’s MP from Mumbai South constituency, Arvind Sawant, has taken oath in Marathi.
Union ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Nitin Gadkari and Smriti Zubin Irani, among others, have taken oath as members of the 17th Lok Sabha.
Union Minister Harsh Vardhan has taken the oath in Sanskrit.
Kodikunnil Suresh was second to take oath as a Lok Sabha MP today, after PM Modi.
Reports suggest that Kodikunnil Suresh could be Congress’ choice to lead the party in the Lok Sabha. Suresh is a MP from Kerala. There has been no announcement from the Congress so far.
On Sunday Suresh and West Bengal MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury represented the party in yesterday’s all-party meeting, along with senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
This has sparked speculation that Suresh could be given a bigger role by the party. Congress-led UDF won 19 out of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala.
BJP President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken oath as a Lok Sabha MP.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes oath as member of the 17th Lok Sabha.
Secretary General has laid on the Table a list containing the names of members elected to the 17th Lok Sabha as submitted by the Election Commission of India (EC).
The Lok Sabha has observed silence for a short while to mark the solemn occasion of the first sitting.

PM Narendra Modi address the press ahead of Parliament session: Today, a new session is starting. There are new hopes and dreams with the beginning of this session. Since independence, this Lok Sabha election saw the highest number of women voters and women MPs. We have experienced this in five years that, when the House has run, good decisions have been taken. Based on that, I hope that all parties will participate in good discussions.
The pro-tem Speaker will administer oath to the newly elected Lok Sabha MPs on June 17. Kumar will also preside over the sitting in which the new Speaker is elected.
No member can participate in any business of the House till he or she does not take the oath.
The triple talaq bill, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019, Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, are some of the bills that the government is likely to table in this session.
The Centre is also expected to push laws to replace around 10 ordinances during this session.
NEWS FLASH: BJP MP Virendra Kumar has been sworn in as the Protem Speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Proceedings will begin at 11.00 am.
The pro-tem Speaker will administer oath to the newly elected Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs) today.
President Ram Nath Kovind will address a joint sitting of both Houses. This address will happen on June 20.
The Budget presented by Union Minister Piyush Goyal on February 1 was interim in nature as it came just ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Now, with a larger mandate, the second Narendra Modi-led government is set to deliver fresh Budget for financial year 2019-20. This time, the Budget will be presented by the new Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The first session of the 17th Lok Sabha will convene today, June 17. The session will run till July 26.
