Here is what you need to know about studying medicine in Russia

Aspirants need at least qualifying marks in NEET exams to enter the Russian Medical Universities, reports Aparna Sharma
With the declaration of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results, many students are aspiring to study in the universities in Russia. At the recently organised counselling session in New Delhi, aspirants tried to clear their queries on the application and admission process of various universities. Many students were curious to know about the eligibility criteria needed to take admission. Counsellors informed that they will need at least qualifying marks in NEET exams to enter the Russian University.
Here are some salient features of universities in Russia:
1. Infrastructure and facilities: There are several government-run universities in Russia that offers decent infrastructure, and facilities such as hostels, a dedicated department for a foreign student
2. Cost: As compared to countries such as the US, UK, the cost of studies is very less. It offers subsidies and few courses start from Rs 12 lakh onwards.
3. Russian degree value: Russian degrees are approved by The National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the World Health Organization (WHO), making the degrees recognised in India.
4. Scholarship: Russian universities provide a scholarship of around 1000 dollars only on processing fee, which is dependent upon students academic performance
5. Other courses: Other than medical courses, Russian universities also provide BTech, BBA, MBA, language programmes, aviation and tourism courses.
