SURAT: An income tax
officer and two others were
booked at Umra police station for thrashing teenage boys for playing cricket on residential building’s campus in Vesu here on Sunday. The accused thrashed the boys with a cricket bat. A CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Police booked Manuj Dubey, an income tax officer, his son Saubhagya and Dr Sarath Shetty for thrashing the boys after Ashish Parekh, father of one of the victim boys, filed a complaint.
Some boys living in Happy Residency on Udhna Magdalla Road were playing cricket on the campus at around 12 noon. After playing, they were sitting when the accused father and son arrived at the spot and started scolding them. They asked the boys not to play cricket near the building. There was an argument between them following which the accused first attacked Aniket and later Aditya, son of the complainant.
