Seven undertrials booked for using mobile phone

VADODARA: Seven undertrials lodged in Vadodara Central Jail were booked after two mobile phones were found from their barrack on Saturday morning.
A team of jail sepoys conducted a surprise check in barrack 3 of yard 7 on Saturday morning. While searching the toilet of the barrack, they found a smart phone placed near the window. On questioning the inmates of the barrack, it came to be known that the phone belonged to Shahrukh alias Chechi Vohra. Another phone in a working condition was found under the mattress of Yuvraj Devipujak. When all inmates were questioned sternly, they said Mohsin Makrani, Mukesh Thakor, Saurabh Nepali, Shravansinh Chauhan and Sunil Patil had used Devipujak’s phone for making calls. All seven were booked at Raopura police station.
On June 13 too, two mobile phones were found from the jail. One phone was found hidden on top of barrack 16 in yard 12 while another was found in a pit near barrack 4 of yard 7.
