Chandrapur: The core zone of
Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve will close down for monsoon from July 1. Park management is, however, going to continue with full-fledged tourism in buffer zone of the tiger reserve during the monsoon.
Tadoba has become an internationally acclaimed tiger destination and people from across the world come here to see tigers in the wild. Tadoba once again registered rise in tourist numbers during last year. The number of tourist visitors during year 2018-19 has crossed the 1.75 lakh mark. Even sizzling temperature of 47 degree in Chandrapur failed to deter tourists during the summer. More than 60,000 tourists have visited Tadoba since May 1, sources said.
However, TATR management has decided for full closure of the core zone of the park during the monsoon months, complying with directives of NTCA. However, tourists will be able to enjoy tiger safari in buffer, which have equally good tiger population. Park management is going to offer entry into the buffer circuits from seven gates during the monsoon months. Tourists will have choice of online as well as spot booking for safari in buffer zone.
Deputy director, TATR (buffer) sent a letter to project coordinator of Maha Online Company Ltd requesting to open online booking for seven gates in four ranges in buffer zone. Mahaecotourism portal is likely to open bookings for seven buffer gates at Agarzari, Devada-Adegaon, Alijhanjha, Ramdegi-Navegaon, Kolara, Kolara-Madnapur and Mamla zones in four buffer ranges.
