THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 24-year-old man was arrested by Poojapura police on Saturday morning for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl. Booked under Prevention of Child Sexual Offences Act (Pocso), the man was remanded to judicial custody by court.
According to Poojapura sub-inspector Prathap Chandran K G, the accused, who is the live-in partner of the girl’s 32-year-old mother , had molested her while teaching her to ride a scooter a month ago. “We received a complaint from the girl’s grandmother,” the SI said.
The woman was previously married to two men. The accused had been looking after the family for the past few months.
