CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh police have
arrested two brothers for assaulting and injuring each other after registering a cross FIR in the matter.
The accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh and Lakhwinder Singh, residents of Sector 32.
According to the cops, Lakhwinder, who resides on the first floor of the house, alleged that his brother often left tap open on the ground floor due to which water supply was disrupted on his floor. This resulted in the tiff between them that turned violent.
Sector 34 police stated that Gurdev has alleged that his younger brother Lakhwinder Singh, who has been living on the first floor, allegedly entered in his portion of the house and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon on June 13.
He further alleged that Lakhwinder had also damaged several house hold items. In the attack Gurdev received serious injuries and was taken to GMCH-32 in a PCR van. On his statement, Sector 34 police has registered a case of house trespassing with an intention to hurt, assault and wrongful restraint against Lakhwinder. He has been arrested.
Meanwhile, Lakhwinder also received injuries in the brawl. He has alleged that as he portion of the house was not getting proper water supply, he came down to check the reason and saw that his brother had left a tap open. Lakhwinder further alleged that when he asked his brother to close the tap, both entered into a heated arguments and also exchanged blows. Lakhwinder also received injuries and was taken to GMCH -32 by cops.
On his statement, Sector 34 police registered a case against Gurdev for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means and arrested him. He was, however, released after furnishing a
bail bond.
