China stays mum as stir intensifies

Chinese state media remained largely silent on Sunday as protests continued, with social platforms scrubbed clean of any pictures or mentions of the rally. Except for a short op-ed in the Communist Party mouthpiece, state media remained mum. The state broadcaster skipped any mention of the news in its main bulletins.
