PATNA:
Railways has cancelled at least 14 passenger trains and diverted the routes of seven others from June 13 to 18 due to non-interlocking (NI) work being carried out at
Faizabad station in Uttar Pradesh.
The cancelled or diverted trains either originate from different stations in
Bihar or pass through the jurisdiction of East Central Railway (ECR).
ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said the cancelled trains include Patna-Kota Express (13237/13238), Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Indore Express (19321/19322), Kishanganj-Ajmer Garib Nawaz Express (15715/15716), Howrah-Dehradun Express (13009/13010), Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express (13151/13152), Malda Town-Delhi Farakka Express (13483/13484) and Faizabad — Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya passenger (54109/54110).
Railways diverted the route of Dhanbad-Ferozpur Ganga Sutlej Express (13307/13308) via Varanasi-Pratapgarh-Lucknow and Jayanagar-Amritsar Saryu Jamuna Express (14649/14650) to Sahganj-Zafrabad-Sultanpur-Lucknow. Similarly, Tata-Amritsar Express (18103) and Guwahati-Okha Express (15636) are diverted to Varanasi-Pratapgarh-Lucknow route. He said Jaipur- Kamakhya Express (19709) is also diverted via Lucknow-Sultanpur-Zafrabad-Ayodhya route.
Besides, railways has decided to run summer special Jansadharan train (05534) between Saharsa and Ambala. This train will leave Saharsa on Friday at 9pm and reach Ambala the next day at 12.15am. The CPRO said railways will run a new passenger train (55579/55580) on the newly converted broad gauge (BG) line between Darbhanga and Mishra Halt on Sunday. The train will leave Darbhanga at 6.10pm and reach Mishra Halt at 7.50pm the same day. On its return journey, it will leave Mishra Halt at 7am and reach Darbhanga at 8.50am, he said.
