The government has accorded administrative sanction for extending Phase 1B of the Kochi Metro Rail from Ernakulam SN Junction to the Thripunithura railway station.

The Cabinet on Wednesday cleared the ₹350-crore roject. The Cabinet ratified a proposal to sign an agreement with the Central government and Railways for construction of 27 road overbridges. It also gave the green signal for a ₹15.86-crore for a bypass and development of Cherpulassery town.
