Delhi University on Thursday announced tentative dates for its UG and PG entrance examinations. Tests to MA, MPhil, PhD and some UG programmes will be held from June 30 to July 5.
The new dates for the tests have been posted on the university website. It will be called the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET)-2019.
University officials had earlier said that the exams would take place between June 30 and July 6. This year, the exams are being held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) which carries out various all-India exams such as NEET and JEE.
The tests, which will be computerised, will be two-hour-long and include 50-100 multiple choice questions and will carry negative marking. Syllabus for the entrance tests will be available on the respective department or the university’s website. In order to ensure that there is no cheating all electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, bluetooth devices and watches with calculators, are disallowed in the exam centre. University officials had earlier said that there will also be CCTV deployment and cell phone jammers. Following the exams, the answer key will likely be displayed on the college’s website in 48 hours, the online notice stated. Directions on how to challenge the answer key will be notified later.
Tests will be held in 18 centres across the country, including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi (NCR), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Ranchi, Trivandrum and Varanasi.
