HCL Technologies to train, hire Class XII students

HYDERABAD: Tech player HCL Technologies on Thursday announced the launch of its Tech Bee – HCL’s Early Career program in Hyderabad as part of which it will be training and hiring class XII (intermediate) students.

The has company piloted this programme in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh in the last two years as part of which it has trained nearly 700 students for entry-level IT jobs in the company.


While working at HCL, students can enroll in the higher education programmes offered by BITS Pilani and SASTRA University. The students also would draw a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month for a year and will be paying a training fee of Rs 2 lakh in installments over five to seven years.


Commenting on the initiative, Srimathi Shivashankar, executive vice-president, HCL Technologies, said, “We believe that young minds can shape many new ideas in our workplace. Youth in India today are looking for the right skilling programs and are ready for early careers and financial independence. Through this programme we are confident that many bright students from both urban and rural areas will get an opportunity for global careers at HCL.”


Students who wish to join this programme should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in their Class 12 exam, with mathematics as a compulsory subject. These students will have to clear an entrance test by HCL to get selected for the programme.


Candidates will be learning the fundamentals of IT, relevant software tools, processes and life skills during these 12 months of training and upon completion of the training they will get to work at HCL Technologies in the areas of application and infrastructure support, testing and CAD Support with starting salaries of around Rs 2.2-2.5 lakh.
