Malay singer faces charges after viral video shows bear peeking out of her condo
Although the video of an animal peeking out from a condo window in Kuala Lumpur had gone viral on social media, it also prompted a raid by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia recently.
“It was night time when I found the bear cub in a weakened state by the side of the road, and I thought it was dog!” 27-year-old Zarith Sofia Yasin, a former contestant on a reality show, had told media. However, netizens who watched the video accused her of trapping the bear in her home with the intention of selling it illegally, which she denied. Although the singer insisted she took good care of Bruno by feeding him well, Zarith was arrested on suspicion of keeping an endangered animal in her condo.
WW II American veteran reunited with former love, all thanks to a photo
That love knows no boundaries is true in the case of Robbins, an American veteran who met his former lover Jeannine, whom he met during the World War II, in a reunion after almost 75 years. The duo, who had spent a few hours together before Robbins left for the Normandy celebrations, had promised each other that they would meet again. Now 97 years, Robbins finally got back Jeannine, thanks to a picture of hers that he treasured all these years.
It was the photo that helped a group of French journalists who approached Robbins for a report on World War II veterans in the US to track Jeannine down at a retirement home. Talk about a picture’s worth!
