30 bottles of hooch seized
Sudhar police booked a liquor peddler after 30 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Hardeep Singh of Mohi. Police officials said police got information that the accused was into liquor peddling. They added that acting on the information, they recovered 30 bottles of liquor from him, but he managed to run away. Police has booked him under sections of the Excise Act.
Snatcher arrested, accomplices escape
Division 3 police have arrested a snatcher, while his accomplices managed to escape after they snatched the mobile phone of a woman at Chaura Bazar on Wednesday. The arrested accused was identified as Saggar of Lassara village in Jalandhar.
Complainant Jasvir Kaur of Ramgarh Sardaran told police that she, along with his sister-in-law, had come to Ghanta Ghar area for shopping on Wednesday. She added that while they were having water on a stall set up by people near Girja Ghar Chowk, three youth came near them and snatched her mobile phone. The complainant said that as she raised an alarm, the accused Saggar was caught on the spot, while his accomplices managed to run away from there. After registering a snatching case, Division 1 police have started a hunt to arrest Saggar’s accomplices. One of the accomplices of the accused has been identified as Neeraj of Lassara.
