Sakhare takes charge as DPC

Inspector General of Police Vijay Sakhare assumed charge as District Police Chief (Kochi City) here on Thursday, the first IG to hold the post after Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi were raised to the position of police commissionerates. Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar is the new DIG (Ernakulam range), while K.P. Philip is the new Additional Commissioner of Police and G. Poonkuzhali is the new DCP (Law and Order, Traffic). K. Karthik assumed office as the new Ernakulam Rural SP.
