ALWAR: A special POCSO court on Wednesday awarded death penalty to a man for raping a five-year-old girl and mutilating her private parts, before killing her on February 1, 2015.
Rajkumar alias Dharmendra Yadav, a resident of Rewali in Behror town, was brought to the court where special judge of POCSO court, Ajay Kumar Sharma pronounced the judgement. In the judgement, the court termed the crime as ‘rarest of rare’ and awarded death penalty to convicted Rajkumar.
Special public prosecutor Vinod Kumar Sharma said that on February 1, 2015, Rajkumar had lured the girl on pretext of giving her a candy and took her to an abandoned building where he raped her. Sharma said the court convicted Rajkumar under sections 302 (murder) and 363 (kidnapping) and also sentenced him to imprisonment till last breath under section 376 (rape). Rajkumar was charged with IPC sections 363, 365, 201, 376, 302 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
