Remove cable TV wires from power lines: MSEDCL

Nagpur: Following electrocution of a cable operator, MSEDCL head office has directed the field officers to immediately remove cable television wires from discom power cables, transformers, distribution point (DP) boxes, etc. The officers have been asked to ensure that no such wires are hung over power equipments in the future. However, communication cables fixed by Mahanet after taking permission from the company should be spared.
If deputy executive engineers (DEEs) or EEs find cable wires on MSEDCL equipments then strict action will be taken against the concerned section engineer and line staffers.
The public relation officers (PROs) of the company have been asked to issue public notices warning to operators and citizens in general not to use MSEDCL infrastructure for fixing their cables.
MSEDCL will inform the revenue department about this decision. In future if any accident takes place due to illegal cable wires on MSEDCL equipment then the owner of the wires will be liable to pay compensation.
