“The first LG W series is expected to be a mid-range offering with an octa-core SoC and a 4,000mAh battery”
Earlier this month, 91mobiles exclusively reported that LG is planning to launch a new India-centric series of smartphones. The first handset in the series will be a budget offering with triple rear cameras. Soon after, Amazon started teasing a phone with three cameras and revealed it will be part of the W series. Most recently, a handful of teasers of the upcoming LG W series phone were leaked on the interwebs, which revealed a few of its features. Now, an alleged live image of the same has also surfaced online.
The design of the LG W series phone seen in the live photo is in line with the earlier teasers. The image only shows the back of the handset. As you can see, the device has three cameras at the back, which are placed vertically. Below the snappers is an LED flash unit and a fingerprint sensor on the right side in the middle. It appears that the phone has a glass back with a gradient finish.
At the bottom edge, the device has a charging port with a speaker grille. A 3.5mm headphone socket isn’t found at the bottom. So it could possibly be placed on the top edge or the brand might ditch the port altogether. The image also suggests that the volume rocker and the power button of the smartphone will be placed on the left side.
As per the earlier teasers, the LG W series phone will have a waterdrop notch above the screen that will house the selfie camera. The handset will be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core 12nm processor, which hints towards the MediaTek Helio 12nm SoC. The device is confirmed to have a 4,000mAh battery and LG’s Boombox speakers.
At the moment, there’s no word on the launch timing of the W series phone in India. However, our sources earlier suggested that the device in India at some point later this month.
