PIL filed in 2015 seeking a direction to the Central Bureau of Investigation (
CBI) to investigate into the allegation of extortion and corruption by one
Ashwin Y, son of Justice Y Bhaskar Rao,
former Karnataka Lokayukta.
This was after the court said that a chargesheet has been filed in the case and the trial also commenced.
Considering the same, a division bench, headed by chief justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, observed that the directions sought by Samaj Parivartana Samudaya and three other persons cannot be granted at this point of time.
The petitioners had sought for investigation based on the FIR registered by Lokayukta Police, Bengaluru Urban division on July 1, 2015.
