Ndlovu explains Sundowns snub

2019-06-13 07:58

Cape Town - Former Maritzburg United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has explained his decision for choosing to join Orlando Pirates over Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ndlovu has signed for the Buccanneers along with former Maritzburg team-mate Fortune Makaringe.

And Ndlovu says the reason he chose to sign for Pirates was because he enjoys the style of football played by Milutin Sredojevic's side.

"First of all I have made the decision to join the black and white on my own, I've never signed with Sundowns," the 22-year-old told KickOff.

"Pirates brought an offer to the team [Maritzburg], and then the team sat me down and we talked about it. Yeah, obviously I've been always willing to play for the black and white, but then when the offer arrived I could see that this is where I could fit in.

"Their way of playing it's more of a South African way of playing football you see, it's the football I like and it's what my football capabilities can easily adapt to. They are playing attacking football most of the time, which is the kind of football I love to play, and yes I have signed for three years."
