Recall order on popular brands of milk after cleaning fluid contamination
Leading milk brands in Australia's biggest supermarkets have been recalled by the food safety regulator after they were found to be contaminated with cleaning solution.
All Victorian customers who bought any of the eight affected brands in Coles, Woolworths, IGA and other independent stores have been advised not to drink the product and return it for a refund.
Coles has posted to Facebook that its customers from Lavington, Deniliquin and Albury in NSW should also return their affected milk.
The affected varieties are: Pauls branded Smarter White (date marked June 25, 26, 27) Full Fat Cream (June 26, 27), PhysiCAL Skim (June 27), PhysiCAL Low Fat (June 26) and Rev Low Fat (June 28); and Coles branded Full Cream (June 25, 26), Lite (June 25, 26) and Skim (June 25) .
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand said the milk might have a yellow colour and a metallic taste.
It advised anyone concerned about their health to seek medical advice.
