Thiruvananthapuram: The employment service department has come up with ‘Career Jalakam’ career cards to inform students about various higher studies and career opportunities available to them. The career cards will be distributed to SSLC and Plus Two students in government schools and degrees students in colleges.
The cards prepared by vocational guidance unit under National Employment Service department in association with Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence are pamphlets consisting of information related to higher studies options for students in science, commerce and humanities branches.
Minister for labour T P Ramakrishnan will release these career cards at a function to be held at Government College for Women, Vazhuthacaud, at 2pm on Friday. These cards will be updated on regular intervals.

In addition to career cards, the department will distribute career directories, which will be a comprehensive document of Career Jalakam, with details on career opportunities, institutes offering scholarships and training programmes for students. These will be distributed through school libraries.
