This is the incredible moment a 15-month-old baby successfully took to the slopes to showcase her impressive snowboarding skills.

Australian Catherine Penney and her partner Jake Shanahan have both been keen enthusiasts of the winter activity for more than 15 years.

And so it's no surprise that they wanted to pass on their love for the sport to their young daughter, Ivy.

The little one was filmed showing off her remarkable balance when trying out a snowboard on the slopes at Perisher Ski Resort in Perisher Valley, New South Wales.

Ivy was captured on camera as she slid down the snow-covered hill with the encouragement of her parents.

And despite the lumpy ground, the wrapped-up youngster is steady on her feet - even offering a cheeky look up at the camera during her descent.

Catherine captured the awe-inspiring clip during her daughter's first day on the snow on June 11.

She shared the video to her Instagram account with the caption: 'Go Ivy!!! Was a bit scared at the start but i think she likes it now haha. 15-months-old and going off.'

The post was inundated with comments praising the little girl's skills, with one writing: 'OMG, Ivy is awesome. Nearly better than me.'

Another said: 'Now that is pretty amazing!!', while one added: 'Oh my goodness! Amazing!'

One individual said: 'Oh my god, this is actually the cutest video ever!', as another said: 'Too cute'.
