The Republic of Iceland has purchased for cancellation the aggregate nominal amount of €60,486,000 in the “€750,000,000 2.50 per cent“, series due 15 July 2020, (ISIN: XS1086879167) at 103.112 per cent. On June 5th, the Republic of Iceland launched an invitation to holders of its bond issuance from 2014 with maturity in July 2020. The offer expired on June 12. The issued total nominal value was €750,000,000, of which €352,422,000 in aggregate nominal amount was outstanding after a previous tender in December 2017. The repurchase of the bonds is an element in the Treasury´s liquidity and debt management strategy.
