BHUBANESWAR: The
Class XII board exam results of
humanities,
commerce and vocational streams will be published either on June 17 or 18, school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said on Wednesday. The result of the science stream was announced on June 3.
"Elections and Cyclone Fani had led to delay in the evaluation process owing to disruption in electricity and internet connections. After the situation normalised, the tabulation process was expedited," Dash said.
As many as 2,35,183 students had appeared in humanities, 27,278 in commerce and 8,058 students in vocational stream. The exams were conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
The delay in publication of results of humanities and commerce has irked students. This has resulted in many of them not being able to apply in universities and institutions outside the state. Besides, the alleged partiality shown to science students has been a sticking point.
