Colleges and universities will be provisioning reservation for teaching posts as per the total strength of the institute if the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Bill, 2019 becomes a reality.

The Cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod for incorporating this proposal in the Bill which will replace The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Ordinance 2019. This is a deviation from the existing norm where reservation is provisioned according to the sections or departments within the university.

The Bill will be introduced in the forthcoming session of Parliament. It will allow filling up of 7,000 existing vacancies by direct recruitment.
