Mike Pompeo said he will visit India this month to forge closer relations with Prime Minister
Narendra Modi. He is expected to be in Delhi around June 24-25 to meet Modi, besides his Indian counterpart external affairs minister S Jaishankar.
Pompeo said on Monday that he will outline areas for new cooperation with India in a speech on Wednesday ahead of his trip to Delhi.

Morgan Ortagus said the top US diplomat could leave for Delhi on June 24.
“PM Modi’s recent election victory provides an excellent opportunity for him to implement his vision of a strong and prosperous India that plays a leading role on the global stage,” said Ortagus.
