UP: Farmer hurt in explosion succumbs to injures

BAREILLY: After struggling for 10 days, a 45-year-old farmer who was grievously injured during a tiffin box explosion while ploughing his field along with his son on June 2 succumbed to injuries on Tuesday evening in hospital.
Durvijay Singh - who had lost his hand down the elbow and three fingers of other hand - sustained injuries also in his stomach during the explosion. His son was also wounded, but he was discharged from the hospital next day of the admission.
The incident happened at Chudaili village under Baheri police station jurisdiction here. Durvijay and his son Tekpal, 23, were admitted to a hospital by family members. During preliminary investigation, police had found land dispute between victim farmer and his elder brother behind the incident.
On the basis of complaint registered with police by Tekpal, police have lodged an FIR under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against his two uncles Mehul Singh, Krishanpal Singh and three cousins Chhotu, Pankaj and Sachin.

Police said that they had detained two accused, but later let them go since no substantial evidences were found against them.
SHO Dhananjay Singh told TOI, “We have added one more section 302 (murder) of IPC in the case after Durvijay Singh passed away on Tuesday evening. We are probing the case on all angles and accused will be arrested very soon.”
